Answering to a letter from President Urs Gassman to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, Commissioner Nicolas Schmit, in charge of Jobs and Social Rights in the EU, has acknowledged the work of EurEta to increase mobility of professionals in our sector and has underlined the importance of transparency, understanding and comparability of qualifications.

Commissioner Schmit welcomed EurEta’s support for the direction EU is taking regarding skills development, stressing that the EU policy Agenda is steering investment in people and their skills as a way to recover from the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his letter to Mr. Gassmann the European Commissioner noted that the European Pillar of Social Rights Action Plan his institution has recently adopted includes investments in skills and education. He also expressed the opinion that the Pact for Skills to strengthen upskilling and reskilling efforts is going to further support developments in our sector.

This very high-level reaction to EurEta’s positions regarding our professionals in the post-COVID-19 EU, comes as a major proof of the efficiency of the representation of our interests in Brussels!
The Board of EurEta will closely monitor European evolutions on our sector, promoting practice-oriented professionals each time this is needed.
