„EurEta is an integral part of my biography”
Mike Mueck

Mike Mueck, you have been registered with EurEta for many years. Why are you committed to the European Association of Practice-oriented Professionals with Higher Education?

EurEta is promoting the practice-oriented professionals with higher education on the political level. The goal is to make their diploma internationally comparable. Transparency is crucial in a working world that is defined by internationality and free movement rights. Comparability is the key to acceptance of our diplomas. It therefore fulfills a basic need of EurEta members. That explains why EurEta is so important to me.

What are your experiences with EurEta?

Potential employers and recruiters often do not know EurEta. They sometimes started the job interview by asking what it means – that was a good beginning since I was able to talk of comparability and practical work experience. When applying for EurEta, this is reviewed and confirmed by the Registration Committee. EurEta has a very professional web site where you can find all the relevant information. For the recruiter, it makes things easier. They better know who they are talking with. Practice and experience are a big plus nowadays.

Can you give me an example of how you benefit from EurEta?

My EurEta title is in my CV – the feedback is very positive. When I apply for a job it increases my chances of being invited for an interview. It also boosts my social media presence on the XING network and soon on LinkedIn. EurEta is an integral part of my biography.

Since this year, you carry the title “Senior Ing. EurEta”. How do you rate the value of this title?

The title is a USP! There are self-appointed “seniors”. And there are seniors EurEta. It’s a reliable proof of professional quality, continuing education and personal advancement.
